Distracting thoughts during your breathwork practice is something that affects everyone from time to time, even seasoned breathwork practitioners. Don’t be too hard on yourself when this happens, it’s perfectly natural for our minds to wander.
Acknowledging any thoughts that might arise without judgment while recentering on the breath, will help you regain focus. Let your breath be your anchor during the whole practice. Whenever your mind drifts off, simply come back to the breath.
Breathwork is actually the most efficient tool to calm down or even bypass the mind and reduce stressful thoughts and overthinking. Try to stick with the practice and return to your breath to help overcome an overactive mind.
